Seven Horror Haiku

Denny E. Marshall

creature, when asked if
they do drugs, said do they taste
better than humans

seen road-warning flare
creature needs help with a spare
all you do is stare

do shape-shifters dream
or only have bad nightmares
of being human

climbed down a dark hatch
stockpile for dynamite cache
shouldn’t have lit match

the werewolf feeding
killed in swipe while assaulting
hungry grizzly bear

aim to steal wallet
thief chases you up pallet
hit him with mallet

when aborting ship
avoid step of not looking
out for meteors
