Drawing and painting is more than a hobby for Fred Leary. It's a passion, the way he captures
and celebrates life. In this album, we at Fossil Publications have assembled some of his favorite drawings and paintings.
Fred is a regular contributor to Black Petals Magazine. He was born in Norwell, MA and says
he has had no formal art training. Since age 3, he has drawn and painted and eventually he became enamored of H. P. Lovecraft
in the fifth grade and started doing Horror and SciFi pieces.
He attended the University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, where he studied news journalism and film.
In 1986 he married his high school sweetheart and and they have four children.
In 1997, Fred began to get serious about art and did a series of cartoons in the AAA Horse Stabling
Guide and in Jim Balzotti's Horseback Riding Vacations.
In 1999, he published a book, "Life and Death of an Unknown Artist" and in 2004, another, "Urban Grit,
Big City Views." His work can also be seen on the Web at Miskatonic University Museum.
He is currently working on two books; a collection of horror and occult pieces and a children's book.
