A line from Lynyrd Skynyrd

by Mark Young

Even though they seem very

much alike, make up a scratch

template, not a template from

Scratch, to create that desktop

database. Neither uses electronic

systems for operating puppets

or focuses on words related

to animal husbandry. Neither

resembles a piece of concrete,

or a watermelon, or any

other well-known construct

of technology. Their smell is

similar; &, when looked in the

eye, both have a tendency to

turn & run. Only then might

it be possible to tell them apart.

Mark Young's most recent books are les échiquiers effrontés, a collection of surrealist visual poems laid out on chessboard grids, published by Luna Bisonte Prods, & The Word Factory: a miscellany, from gradient books of Finland. Due for publication are Residual sonnets from Ma Books, The Perfume of The Abyss from Moria Books, & an e-book, A Vicarious Life — the backing tracks, from otata.

Christopher Goss, longtime Black Petals and Yellow Mama contributor, has recently made some lifestyle changes, moving from Del Rio Texas, where he made his living building and servicing radio and TV towers, to Spearville, Kansas, where he now works on giant generators on a 300-unit wind farm. He has also started dabbling in some photo art, along with his dark fiction and poetry.
