Along
Side of the Road
Kenneth
Vincent Walker
For I saw death
Along side of the
road.
Though I tried to
ignore him
Still he captured
my eyes.
Much to my
surprise,
When I realized
that
This mythical
creature
Who tore flesh
from bone
Was really a
teacher
Of the unknown.
For I saw death
Along side of the
road.
Though I tried to
deplore him,
He was as gentile
as pie,
Like a sweet
lullaby.
This theatrical
feature
Must now close
As a poem unto
death
The veiled teacher
Of the unknown.
