“Endless Men’s
Hate”
Matthew Wilson
I didn’t
feel the bullet in my heart
I fell forward
without enough breath to drown
When I awoke from
the puddle he was waiting
The evil thing
with yellow eyes.
When he made the
deal the sun was hot
The men were wearing
different uniforms
I wondered where
the flying machines came from
But I stopped thinking
when something hit me.
The man with the
scythe was smiling
Tickled by our
brief reunion
When he snapped
his fingers I smelt smoke
Screaming when
I saw metal tanks coming at me.
I do not know how
many times I have awoke
Seeing that men
will never end their anger
Awaking in one
battlefield after another
To the thing with yellow eyes enjoyment.
