A Not-So Brilliant
Poem

Fame is a fart
we should be too polite
to acknowledge—
it is a stench disguised as Miss
America,
trying to fool nostrils
into believing they can blink,
but being average is the real
rose:
the most glorious blooming
we sell too cheap
just to wither in a vase that
cost more
than this poem ever will.

in various places online and in print and is a Best of the Net nominee. His
first chapbook was
released in 2020, and a second and third chapbook in 2021. As well, his fourth
chapbook, People More Famous Than Me, was published in early 2022

is the editor/art director of the ezine, Yellow Mama. She’s a Gemini, a
Christian, and an animal rights activist. She has recently been branching out
into photo illustration, under the guidance and mentoring of Ann Marie Rhiel.
