Phases
of the Moon
Kenneth
Vincent Walker
O the many phases
Of the Moon;
Waxing,
Waning, Gibbous in
Its luminescence
Full
Of exuberance
anew.
Shyly hiding in a
phase
Of
self-reflection, then
Poking her
thumbnail
Out each evening
with
A bit more
confidence
Than she had
before
Peering down upon
us
More and more.
Sheer
Perfection glowing
is
This sister of the
Sun
Eclipsing each
emotion
That we never even
knew
Amid the nighttime
skies
Taboo; while
Lycans and
Lunatics howling,
wailing,
Beneath this
glowing orb
Assailing;
unwitting, and
Unwilling
participants in
Horrific screams
of doom
As blood is freely
flowing.
