Funeral Memorial
Kenneth Vincent Walker
What a direly sad, sad
Event; an unanticipated
Funeral Memorial in
Celebration of the life
Of a friend who passed
Away so unexpectedly
Yesterday, accidentally,
Tragically, at such a young
Age, in the most horrifying
Way imaginable; I must say,
The atmosphere was thick
As molasses. The huddled
Masses cut to the quick with
Anguish. Reminiscing while
Still in shock. Dressed all in
Black while the clock has
Stopped; yet memories live
On and we cling to them
Like metal to a magnet, as
Birds flock in migration
Southward to the warmth of
The Sun's sweet caresses.
