A Sad Sort of Nostalgia
by
Richard LeDue
I miss the canned
laughter
from my childhood,
before I knew it
was dead,
before the ending
credits
became an obituary
I only pretended
to read
after discovering
music, television
shows, movies,
Netflix, YouTube,
AI-generated
Donald Trump
drinking orange
juice
all helped make
the silence
between people
seem normal.
