Just who does God watch? she asks out loud.

Ill equipped to answer, I offer smiles

that charm the weak or easily seduced.

She is neither, so I drink, then ask how

dreams come to be, in a world this defiled

“they crawl” she says, “between love and abuse.”

She hints of another life that she leads

intrigued, I ask her, if it skirts the law?

She laughs and says “the laws so much bullshit.”

Later, we get high on Moroccan weed

I see stars dying and god’s great flaws

designing the universe, while I wish

to love her until I see her shoot smack;

dead in two years but we’ll have at least that.
