Vincent Walker
The very first
thing
Noticed is no
longer
Feeling any pain
at all.
A sense of
calmness
Engulfs this torn
body
Which shall never
rise
Again in its usual
form.
This event, this
passing
Which is feared by
most
Is as natural as
is living
As a specter, As a
ghost.
But of course this
goes
Against most
ideologies
Which we’ve embraced.
Either way we’ll
all find
Our pathway as we
did
From a swaddling
nest
To that special
place:
A passageway of rest.
