Meg Smith
The
moon's curve of vertebrae
molds
the bridge
between
summings of heart, teeth,
light,
and dark.
There
will come claws, breath, and time,
always
time, healing, breathing, knowing.
This
is the language
of
hours that run out before love is enough.
All
of them, will I love, and gather them
as
they gather me in a final circle, some day,
when
the time of all our bones is run.
