Meg Smith: Dark Gate Park

Dark Gate Park

Meg Smith

We two stood in the shadow

 of the water tower,

regarding the swingsets.

Night drew us in, as ever,

in words, and no words.

What was our time?

What was our vanishing?

Now, alone, the gate creaks,

and the deep stars are their only answer.

Meg Smith is a writer, journalist, dancer and events producer living in Lowell, Mass.

In addition to previously appearing in Black Petals, her poetry and fiction have appeared in Dark Moon Digest, Aphelion, Blood Moon Rising Magazine, Sirens Call, and many more.
