Dark Gate Park
Meg Smith
We
two stood in
the shadow
of the water tower,
regarding
the swingsets.
Night
drew us in,
as ever,
in
words, and no
words.
What
was our time?
What
was our
vanishing?
Now,
alone, the
gate creaks, and the deep stars
are their only answer.
