VENGEANCE

The bitter taste of midnight

moves inside my mouth like a worm,

clings to my tongue with a lovesong

that yearns for sweet revenge

Darkness drills a hole in my skull,

wipes me clean of memory,

seeks to destroy a thousand suns

that burn with such intensity

The blackened sky unsheathes its sword

and beheads the dizzy day,

slashes the throats of angels

who just came out to play
