Crash Course: Extinction 101 by
Chris Litsey
They should craft
a medal for animal
Stupidity. I'm
proud to say humans
Would take the
crown in this contest.
For all the
creatures that have died off,
From disaster or
poor adaptations,
Bad luck, all in
all, there's only one being
That could wipe
their whole impression
On this rock some
poor midnight or
In a pot like a
frog.
If only we could
achieve peace,
Archive a piece of
our history that
Wouldn't be
tarnished by rusting blood.
Is it so hard to
feed everyone when
There's more than
enough food for it?
Is it so hard to
house our fellow humans
When so many homes
sit empty?
Is it so hard to
keep our bombs in check
When we've become
more connected than
Ever? Apparently.
Masterclass in
Execution, down to
the last drops of life.
Our epitaph will
read, "Here lies those last
Great Murderers.
Good riddens!" Folly,
Folly, Folly after
Folly as we follow the pied piper of
Monsters and imbeciles.
Soon, perhaps
The last humans
will be drawing their
Final breaths and not
even know it.
Chris
