Bloody Daydream

Falling asleep on a train

That's bound for nowhere.

Not sure if it's tiredness

Making my eyes heavy

Or the antidepressants have kicked in.

I sat watching strangers in the carriage

Coming and going

Fumbling to their seats.

My heart starts racing

As my desire to feed my addiction heightens.

Choosing one of these lab rats

Is the first step.

Then I wonder and fantasise

About the blood patterns

As my knife penetrates their chest bone

Through their lungs.

The gurgling of blood as they gasp for breath

Is like a Mozart symphony to my ears.

Just as my thirst has been quenched

And my habit has been acquired

I sit back in my first-class seat

And plan to make my bloody daydream

A beautiful reality.
