IMMINENT MORTALITY

by

Robert Beveridge

the radiant black of this night

a sun shining backwards

unspoken passions

by Robert Beveridge

a repetitive piece of song

spins rips

through my skull

discordant

over over

(dig itdig it

dig itdig it)

scrapes the bone walls

with the claw

of a synthesized hammer

the razor makes no sense anymore

the whole cult's overdosed

on synthesizers

they die their eyes open

their mass graves already dug

in the jungle

Robert Beveridge (he/him) makes noise (xterminal.bandcamp.com) and writes poetry in Akron, OH. Recent/upcoming appearances in Ephemeral Elegies, Pulsebeat, and Riverbed Review, among others.
