Crazy Folk by Trina Stolec Most
people avoid crazy folk. . . .
"Not quite right in the head," Grams
calls them in her
passé politically correct way, but that description encompasses far
more than crazy folk.

eccentric And whom, exactly, determines
what's "right in the head" and what's "wrong in the head" or
is it "left in the head"
or maybe "spoken in the head"? And while you're considering
the possibility I'm one of those "not right" folks, consider also that I might have just found a very effective way to avoid you. Faces... by Trina Stolec Faces... no heads or
hair or neck or voice, no
body, arms, feet. Faces... downcast eyes
shed stony tears, noses skewed by mouths distorted in screams of fire, Faces... forbidden access
to the dialect
of living; their requests unmistakable. Trina Stolec studied poetry and writing at the Cincinnati School for
Creative and Performing Arts, Berea College, and the University of Toledo, but she was
mostly self-taught by reading other poets. She has had over 170 poems appear in over
50 publications, including Agnieszka's Dowry, ZuZu Petals Quarterly, Thunder Sandwich, Recursive Angel, ken*again, and Full of Crow. Alone, or as part of the performance art band Logic
Alley, she performs and reads her poetry in many venues including The Columbus
Arts Festival, Art O Matic 419, and The Old West End Festival.
